Job Description

As a Manager I, Events, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of staff, convention personnel, and clients to make arrangements for group meetings, events, and conventions. Your primary focus will be delivering exceptional event experiences to our stakeholders while staying on schedule and within budget. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will also ensure all logistics, communications, and event materials are properly executed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of event planning from inception to execution, ensuring the timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align event objectives with overall company goals.
  • Create and manage budgets for each event, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and reconciled accurately.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible service and pricing.
  • Lead and supervise the event team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their growth and development.
  • Implement event best practices and processes, proactively identifying areas for improvement and streamlining workflow.
  • Ensure events are executed in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure a seamless event experience.
  • Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

  • Receives guidance and oversight from higher-level manager
  • Typically doesn't perform the work supervised
  • Has 4 to 5 years of work experience
  • Has 0 to 1 year of management experience

Education

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Certifications

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
  • Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP)
  • Additional certifications may be required or preferred
