Job Description

As an Assistant Cost Controller, you are responsible for examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records to prepare accurate financial statements. This role will require providing insightful advice and conducting extensive audits to evaluate statements prepared by others. In addition, you will have the opportunity to install or advise on systems of recording costs and other financial and budgetary data to streamline and optimize company processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret accounting records to ensure financial statements are accurate and in compliance with regulations.
  • Provide advice on financial matters to management and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct extensive audits and evaluate statements prepared by others.
  • Develop and implement efficient systems for recording costs and other financial data, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in planning, coordinating, and executing financial projects and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of evolving financial practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Continuously assess and improve financial processes, making recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
