Job Description

As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes, including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts for our esteemed guests. In addition to menu execution, this role involves ordering supplies, managing records and accounts, pricing menu items, and planning menus, allowing you to showcase your culinary expertise and creativity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment, adhering to all local and federal food handling and safety regulations.
  • Order and maintain appropriate stock levels of kitchen supplies, while managing inventory and reducing waste.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and develop new menu items, ensuring variety and creativity in offerings.
  • Monitor and adjust menu pricing, taking into consideration food costs, market trends, and competitors.
  • Accurately maintain required records, including food production, inventory, and accounts.
  • Coordinate the work of other cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation of dishes.
  • Train junior team members in food preparation, presentation, and safety standards, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Work Experience

  • Requires expertise in a variety of work processes through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience
  • Typically acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others but not a supervisor
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices
  • Has 4 to 5 years of work experience
