Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Expertly cut, trim, and debone various types of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and fish, according to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels of all meat products to minimize waste and ensure product availability for customers.
• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the meat department, including scheduling, staff training, and enforcing safety and sanitation protocols.
• Evaluate and determine the best suppliers for meat products, ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards.
• Train, mentor, and supervise team members, ensuring the highest level of customer service and workplace efficiency.
• Continuously analyze and troubleshoot issues that arise within the meat department, and devise effective solutions to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Work Experience

• Functions as a working supervisor of a business support team
• May spend a portion of time performing the work supervised
• Responsible for the results of the team
• Works within established precedents and practices
• Analyzes information to solve on-going problems
• Has 5 or more years of work experience

Competencies

Education

• High School Degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Certifications

• Certifications may be required or preferred.
